Jane Knight

Jane Knight, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, focuses her research and professional interests on the international dimension of higher education at the institutional, national, regional and international levels. Her work in over 65 countries with universities, governments, UN Agencies, and foundations helps to bring a comparative, development and international perspective to her research, teaching and policy work.

Dr. Knight is the author of numerous publications on internationalisation concepts and strategies, quality assurance, institutional management, trade, and cross-border education. Her current research on Education Hubs will result in a new book in 2013. She is the co-founder of the African Network for the Internationalization of Education and sits on the advisory boards of many international organizations and journals. In 2010 the University of Exeter awarded her an Honorary LLD for her research and policy work on the international dimension of higher education.

As a visiting scholar in Malaysia in 2010, in Japan in 2011, and in India during 2012 she continues her work on a comparative study of the internationalization and regionalization of higher education in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
